Biogas plants and gas recovery
Discover how we transform waste into valuable energy with our advanced gas recovery and biogas plants. With our extensive experience and expertise in gas recovery and biogas plants, we combine environmental benefits with economic value.
Biogas plants – from biomass to energy
Through Enricom A/S, Dalgas helps promote the use of biogas for energy production. With biogas plants in both Denmark and Poland, we help reduce greenhouse gas emissions by capturing methane from organic waste.
Our biogas plants are designed to produce gas by breaking down biomass such as livestock manure and organic waste in a controlled process. The biogas is upgraded to biomethane, which is delivered to the gas network for energy use. This reduces dependence on fossil fuels and promotes sustainable energy production. Additionally, the residual product from biogas production can be used as fertiliser in agriculture, creating a circular economy.
Development and investments
Enricom Sp. z o.o. is working on developing a portfolio of biogas plants in Poland. We already have three biogas projects under development and plan to have a portfolio of 10-20 biogas plants within the next five years. Our partners include SWEN Capital Partners, a major player in sustainable investments, and Rika Biotech, which specialises in the development and financing of biogas projects.
Why Poland?
Poland is an ideal place for the development of biogas plants due to its large agricultural sector. Poland is one of the largest producers of grain and poultry in the EU, providing ample biomass for biogas production.
Additionally, there are few and mainly small biogas plants in Poland, giving us the opportunity to expand the market.
Gas recovery from landfills
In Poland, we have established renewable energy plants specialising in gas recovery from landfills. When organic waste is deposited in the landfill, landfill gas is formed, which we utilise for the production of electricity and heat.
By recovering gas from landfills, we reduce greenhouse gas emissions while reducing dependence on fossil fuels. The gas can also be used as a substitute for natural gas in boilers and engines.
We develop and operate two gas recovery plants in Poland through Enricom Sp. z o.o.:
- Lubna near Góra Kalwaria: The plant has a capacity of 2 x 836 kWh electricity and 2 MW heat
- Sosnowiec: The plant has a capacity of 802 kWh electricity and 1 MW heat
